Description

This is a classic 70's original ski poster of Roger Staub showing off a jet turn on some Vail moguls. When we were looking for information on who the skier in this photograph was, we got a lot of help from skiers all over the country. Some of the guesses included Dave Ingemie, John Clendenin, Billy Kidd, Eddie Ferguson, Dexter Rutecki, Corky Fowler, Hermann Goellner, etc. Some suggested Roger Staub, while most were instead trying to figure out what their guess looked like in 1970.

Finally, the former executive of Hart Skis, Charlie Unternahrer, let us know for certain that it was Roger Staub, as Charlie was the one who originally hired him to do some of these Hart ads all those years ago. Mystery solved!

Roger Staub was an alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist from Switzerland, who later became the Vail Ski School Director as Vail was just getting started.
