Para-Ski 1960's Ski Goggles

The Ottawa Citizen Newspaper ran an ad for these in Dec 1968, stating these Goggles were a "Must Have!" The ad stated: "For $3.99 - With 2 sets of lenses. A set of Green and Yellow distortion-free lenses. Quick change in seconds! Fully Vented too!" Of course the vent control is to prevent fogging, a great development of the 1960's.

Don't miss a chance to sport these bubble eyed goggles on the slopes! Your friends will be asking for a pair too. These are also a fun addition to your vintage collection. Made in France.

Interesting story connect this funny looking goggles with ski competition. It was used by Austrian ski racer Karl Schranz in slalom special at winter Olympics in Grenoble in 1968 and Karlstopped in first run claiming to be disturbed by somebody on track and in second run set fastest time !
However later was disqualified by race jury, thus loosing possibility to win gold medal in those strange goggles that actualy offered excellent visibility.
Who knows why he has used this goggles rather than his usual Austrian Carrera goggles ?
