Every December, Beaver Creek hosts a downhill race on their Birds of Prey course. For those unfamiliar with competitive downhill skiing, it's all about getting to the bottom fastest by whatever means necessary; racers in downhill competitions will regularly be at speeds of over 80 mph while competing. Beaver Creek has also hosted FIS a number of times on the same course.
