Now called the HEAD Town Race Series after its current sponsor, the Town Series (originally sponsored by Rossignol) began in 1980 on the slopes of Aspen Highlands. It's been directed by my good friend Scott Nichols (who is also the ski racing director for Aspen and Aspen Highlands) since 1981; and it hasn't slowed down ever since.
In the Town Series everyone is invited to participate, although the series is divided into two leagues: advanced and recreational. Skiers ride on the Thunderbowl and Goldenhorn courses, and races alternate between slalom and giant slalom.
