BACKGROUND Vintage Ski World Owner
Richard Allen
Richard Allen, third generation skier and
founder of Vintage Ski World, has gradually acquired one of
the largest
private collections of antique ski equipment, clothing, posters
and memorabilia in the world.
Through his efforts, skiers of all ages have
had the opportunity to compete in antique ski races on old hickory
skis and lace-up boots, and to experience skiing heritage by participating
in Vintage Ski World costume theme parties and photo sessions.
Richard's generous donations have also been
instrumental in supporting organizations such as the Pioneer Ski
Museum in Aspen, Colorado.
"Keeping the past alive for skier and
non-skier alike" is how Allen sums up his goals with Vintage
Ski World.
"I come from a skiing family -- more
than three generations starting in Norway. Skiing has been a
huge part
of
my life since I can remember, and running a ski related business
as unique as Vintage Ski World is a dream come true."
