Steamboat Barn Vintage Ski Poster

The famous 1970's Steamboat Barn skiing poster. This poster says it all about Steamboat. It is one of Steamboat's first posters.

The man in the poster (front rider) is Earle "Rusty" Chandler, Jr. Rusty now resides in Warren, NH. After leaving Steamboat for his native NH in 1979, he became the director of skiing at Mt. Sunapee Ski Area, then eventually had to retire due to the Parkinson disease that caused him to leave Colorado in the first place. Rusty has lived with this disease for more than 30 years, a remarkable feat.

The cowgirl in the poster is Jo Semotan, who also happens to be the Steamboat native that arranged the photo shoot, at the request of Steamboat's Ski Area marketing director for the 1971-72 ski season, Mix Beauvais. She writes a great summary of how this iconic photograph came into existence, in a Steamboat Magazine article found on this link:
