Description   This painting by Mead Schaeffer is one of the most famous images in North American skiing history. It depicts a tough battle hardened 10th Mountain soldier in full winter camo gear. The painting model was a man named Horace Quick, an accomplished outdoors man and skier who participated in the famous high altitude Trooper Traverse from Camp Hale to Aspen in winter of 1944. This is an original poster produced from the  Post cover painting. SIGNED by Mead Schaeffer.   Features Signed by artist, image size 16 x 20 inches, with ample white border.
