Description   This poster was created by artist Larry Van Alstyne to celebrate the second hosting of the Olympics in 1980 at Lake Placid, NY. In 1932 Lake Placid hosted the first Olympics’ in the US. This was before downhill skiing was an event in the Winter Games. The 1932 games put Lake Placid on the map and it soon became a haven for winter sports.
