Andrea Mead Lawrence with Bota in Cortina, 1956 Vintage Photo

Andrea Mead Lawrence, American's top woman downhill skier, was also one who loved dogs. Lucky for Bota, who is pretty darn cute.  He was hanging out at the base of the mountain at the 1956 Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.  She does not look like the mother of three children. She reported that she left for Europe 6 weeks after having given birth to her third child Deirdre 'Didi'.  She then raced in the Cortina Winter Olympic Games with the US Ski Team. What an amazing woman!
